Golden milk (Dairy Free)

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 cups unsweetened almond, soy or coconut milk

  • 1 ½ tsp turmeric powder (or 1 Tbsp fresh grated turmeric root)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder

  • ½ tsp ginger powder (or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger)

  • 1 pinch black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)

  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, adds richness and boosts absorption)

  • 1–2 tsp raw honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)

  • Pinch of cardamom or nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, gently warm the almond or coconut milk over medium heat — don’t boil.

  2. Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and coconut oil until smooth.

  3. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally. This helps release the beneficial compounds.

  4. Remove from heat, sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.

  5. Pour into mugs, sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon or nutmeg, and enjoy warm.
